Alex Hall commits to Maryland: Terrapins add greyshirt offensive lineman

Maryland added a new face to its 2016 recruiting class, adding a commitment from Louisville (Ohio) offensive tackle Alex Hall. Hall will greyshirt his first season, presumably to bulk up, per Terrapin Times.

Maryland was the first to offer the 6'6, 265-pound recruit, and he joins Brian Plummer and Terek Zingale as the third tackle commit at 6'6 or taller.

A greyshirt means a player delays his enrollment until the spring semester, not joining the team for practices or meetings in the fall. That first year does not count towards the eligibility clock. It's the first known instance of Edsall using this tactic with a recruit for non-injury reasons (Quinton Jefferson greyshirted his first year after a jaw injury).
