Denver beats Maryland, 10-5, in NCAA men's lacrosse national championship

The Denver men's lacrosse team led Maryland, 5-3, at halfitme and the No. 6 seed Terps did not challenge in the second half, as the Pioneers became the western-most school to win the NCAA men's lacrosse national championship.

Wesley Berg scored five goals for fourth-seeded Denver, which cruised to 10-5 victory at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

Pioneers goalie Ryan LaPlante made 13 saves. Attackman Matt Rambo (two goals) was the only Maryland player who scored more than once.

Terps goalie Kyle Bernlohr made 10 saves.
