Terrance Thompson leaves Marshall basketball team

The Marshall men’s basketball team will be without a key post player this season. Sources confirmed to the Gazette-Mail that forward Terrence Thompson has left the team.

The Herald-Dispatch first reported the story, saying Thompson will be able to play elsewhere as a graduate transfer.

Thompson started 21 of the 23 games he played last season, finishing second on the team with 6.5 rebounds per game while averaging 9.1 points. He also was second on the team shooting 51.5 percent from the floor.

With Thompson now gone, an even bigger hole forms in the low post for Marshall.
