Nobody expects a repeat against the rejuvenated 49ers, but the Thundering Herd would like to jump out to a quicker start — or just lead at the half by any margin.

In the five games since the season opener, Marshall has trailed at halftime by a combined 138-51. Another perspective: MU has led just 27:05 out of a possible 150 minutes in the five first halves. The Herd never led in the first half — or second half, for that matter — against Louisville, Pittsburgh and North Texas.
