CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Stevie Browning scored 27 points and Jon Elmore had 26 Saturday night as Marshall snapped its two-game losing streak with a 93-89 win over Charlotte at Halton Arena.
Browning missed the Thundering Herd’s last game, a 21-point loss Thursday to Old Dominion, with back spasms. He came back strong, going 9 of 13 from the floor and 5 of 6 from 3-point range.
His fifth 3-pointer, with 1:20 left, gave an 84-78 lead, enough for the Herd to overcome a hiccup in the final minute.
At times Elmore was spectacular, once banking in a perfect shot as he was about to hit the deck and with the shot clock running out.
