Dan D’Antoni learned of an unusual stat about Old Dominion, one where the Monarchs shoot better on the road than they do at home.
“Home games, Old Dominion shoots 27.7 percent [3-pointers], away games they shoot 36,” said the third-year Marshall basketball coach. “Now that 36 is probably a lot more us.”
He delivered that with a chuckle, referring to the Thundering Herd’s sometimes generous defense. The Herd will get its second attempt to slow down the Monarchs at 8 p.m. Thursday at Ted Constant Center in Norfolk, Virginia.
