79 Marshall Student-Athletes Graduate

HUNTINGTON – This morning, the Marshall University student-athletes who have or will be graduating on Saturday were honored at the Marshall Memorial Student Center with the annual Thundering Herd Graduates breakfast for student-athletes in all sport.

79 Marshall players in 14 sports either have graduates last summer, in the Fall of 2015 or will make the walk to the podium on Saturday to receive their diplomas.

“We’re all connected now,” Laurel D’Antoni told the graduating student-athletes at a special ceremony this morning. Laurel D’Antoni, an international model, is the wife for former Marshall point guard Mike D’Antoni – who played in the NBA, then coached and played in Italian League (where he met Laurel) many years, worked over the last decade as the head coach of the Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers, was an assistant on the gold medal winning USA Basketball team at the last two Olympics and who is currently an associate head coach of the Philadephia 76ers.
