Postseason Hopes Slip Away From Marquette Women’s Lacrosse In Loss To Georgetown

An 8-2 Georgetown run bridging halftime ended up dooming Marquette women’s lacrosse on Saturday as the Golden Eagles took a 19-11 loss to the Hoyas at Valley Fields. MU drops to 4-11 on the season and 2-5 in league play. As a result of the loss and other results around the conference, Marquette has been eliminated from contention for the Big East tournament with two games left to go.

The two teams tilted back and forth over the first 22 minutes of the game. Marquette struck first, Georgetown eventually took a 3-2 lead, and then the Golden Eagles turned around and staked themselves to a 5-4 lead on a free position goal from Grace Gabriel.
