Ryan Giggs' trial for alleged coercive behaviour and assault against his ex-partner could be delayed AGAIN... with Manchester Crown Court forced to close for two weeks after asbestos was discovered in the basement

The trial of Ryan Giggs could be delayed again - after an asbestos scare at Manchester Crown Court.

Former Manchester United player Giggs, 48, was due at the city centre building on Monday to face allegations of controlling behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm on his ex-partner and assault by beating of her sister - accusations he denies.

But the ex-Wales manager, who stepped down from his post earlier this summer, may now find the case put back for a second time.

On Friday, a potential site of the carcinogen was discovered in a basement of the court, which was built in the 1960s.
