Manchester United goalkeeper Joel Pereira states ambition to become club's No 1 after making his league debut against Crystal Palace

Joel Pereira has set his sights on becoming Manchester United’s No.1 goalkeeper after making his Premier League debut in the final game of the season against Crystal Palace.

Pereira’s previous first-team experience for United amounted to 10 minutes off the bench in the FA Cup win over Wigan in January, shortly after returning from a loan spell at Belenenses in Portugal.

But after keeping a clean sheet with an impressive performance in the 2-0 win over Palace, the 20-year-old insisted he wants to stay at Old Trafford and establish himself as United’s first-choice keeper one day.
