Gordon Strachan's passionate 2014 critique of football's poor morals resurfaces on Twitter, with users pointing to its relevance today as former Man United winger laments game's tendency to stand by 'wife batterers' and stars involved in 'infidelity'

A passionate assessment of football's morals by Gordon Strachan has re-emerged on Twitter over the past few days.

The video, originally from 2014, was shared in response to Manchester United's statement on the future of Mason Greenwood.

Greenwood was arrested in January 2022 and charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. All charges were dropped in February 2023 after key witnesses withdrew their co-operation.

United released a statement on Wednesday saying a decision has not yet been made over the 21-year-old's future amid reports that the club were planning to bring him back into the first team picture.
