Danny Murphy warns Manchester United against appointing Carlo Ancelotti as their next manager

Danny Muphy believes Manchester United should not appoint Carlo Ancelotti as their next manager because they someone 'more stable' than the Italian – and claims the club 'missed the boat' with hiring Antonio Conte.

United are eager to make a long-term appointment in the summer, with Paris Saint-Germain's Mauricio Pochettino and Ajax's Erik ten Hag among their preferred candidates.

However, reports earlier this week claimed that Real Madrid boss Ancelotti has emerged as a shock candidate to take over from Ralf Rangnick in the summer, with the Italian said to be Sir Alex Ferguson's choice for the Old Trafford job.
