Manchester City face anxious wait on Gabriel Jesus as red tape threatens to prevent Brazilian's debut at Everton

Manchester City are racing to complete Gabriel Jesus' paperwork in time for their £27million Brazilian signing to make his debut at Everton on Sunday.

City are confident the 19-year-old forward, who arrived in England last week, will be cleared to play but it is understood they only have until Friday to sort out any remaining red tape.

Although Jesus signed from Palmeiras in the summer, he stayed with his club until the end of the Brazilian season in December under the terms of the transfer.
