Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany says £200m of new arrivals have restored hunger for trophies

Vincent Kompany believes Manchester City's new arrivals have restored the trophy-winning hunger to Pep Guardiola's side.

After finishing a disappointing third in the Premier League last season and crashing out of the Champions League to Monaco at the last-16 stage, City have spent big during the summer window.

Over £200million has been bringing Danilo, Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy, Kyle Walker and Ederson to the Etihad Stadium and captain Kompany does not expect another trophyless campaign.

But in order to make way for the new signings, City had to wave goodbye to a raft of players who have been good servants over the past few years, including Bacary Sagna, Aleksandar Kolarov, Gael Clichy and Pablo Zabaleta.
