Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany faces a fight to win back his place for club and country after being left out of Belgium squad

Vincent Kompany has been dealt another snub after the Manchester City captain was left out of Belgium’s forthcoming games against Greece and Russia.

Kompany could not even make the bench for City’s Champions League defeat to Monaco in midweek, and has not played for his club since the end of January.

The injury-hit defender now faces a battle to win back his place for club and country after Belgium coach Roberto Martinez admitted that he needs to be playing more games.
