Borussia Dortmund chief admits they 'cannot keep up financially' with Man City

Borussia Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke has claimed that any offer Manchester City submit for Erling Haaland would be unmatchable.

Pep Guardiola's side are reportedly ready to make the Norwegian the highest-paid player in England and as Sportsmail revealed earlier this month, the Premier League champions are frontrunners in the race for the 21-year-old star forward.

Personal terms have been discussed and it can now be disclosed that Haaland would become the Premier League's top earner, with a salary in excess of £500,000 a week.

Haaland is widely expected to leave Dortmund at the end of the season due to the £64million release clause included in his contract when joining from RB Salzburg in 2019.
