That leaves the Tigers without a pass rusher who set the single-season school record for sacks in 2016 with 12.
Key missed all spring practices when he took a leave from the team for what the school said were personal reasons, and he has been limited in practices as he recovered from what the school said in June was a shoulder procedure.
During that time, the Tigers have worked multiple players at Key's edge rushing linebacker spot.
