Just after LSU beat Iowa State 33-15 in the 1971 Sun Bowl in El Paso, LSU head coach Charles McClendon confirmed he turned down a $1 million offer to become head coach and athletic director at Texas A&M.
"I'm LSU through and through," McClendon said.
