Les Miles explains thought process when seeking new LSU assistant coaches

Les Miles added a trio of highly regarded coaches in defensive coordinator Kevin Steele, defensive line coach Ed Orgeron and wide receivers coach Tony Ball to the LSU staff this offseason.

In fact, behind running backs coach Frank Wilson and tight ends coach Steve Ensminger, in their sixth seasons, only fourth-year defensive backs coach Corey Raymond and third-year offensive coordinator Cam Cameron boast tenures longer than two seasons.

Offensive line coach Jeff Grimes joined the staff in 2014 and linebackers coach and special teams coordinator Bradley Dale Peveto returned after five seasons elsewhere.

Miles explained Wednesday during his weekly radio show, at the request of a fan, the qualities for which he looks when seeking a new assistant.
