Sophomore forward John Gates loves to tell jokes and make his friends laugh off the field, using his witty personality to bond with his teammates. On the field, he leads Loyola with his fast plays and polished dribbling skills, powering the Ramblers’ offense with well-executed passes and assists.
Gates has already contributed more points to the team halfway through the season than he did last year, netting six points in the 2021 season and seven points in the 2022 season. Loyola Head Coach Steve Bode said Gates has developed into one a well-rounded offensive player, adding his dynamic movement and speed will help him enhance his play over the coming years.
