Loyola Director of Athletics Steve Watson announced the hiring of Alison Guth as the new head coach for the women’s basketball team April 8. Before coming to Loyola, Guth was the head coach for Yale University and led the program to 99 wins over six seasons.
Guth is not the only new coach the Ramblers brought to the program this year as four new coaches — Marsha Frese, Chanise Jenkins, Sheila Boykin and Jordan McCann — and one returning coach Abi Scheid make up the rest of the staff.
The Phoenix reported Loyola would not be renewing previous Head Coach Kate Achter’s contract March 24 and were conducting an immediate search for a replacement.
