Loyola Men’s Soccer Names Steve Bode Head Coach Following Neil Jones Departure to the University of Wisconsin

Loyola University Chicago Athletics announced the hiring of Steve Bode as the new head coach for the Loyola men’s soccer team Jan. 20 after the departure of Neil Jones. In Bode’s 14 years of experience, he’s coached at the collegiate, professional, and national level.

Bode comes from working as an assistant coach for the women’s soccer team at Marquette University, where he helped the team achieve an overall record of 15-12 and 9-9 in the Big East. Four of his players were also selected to the All-Big East team.

Prior to Marquette, Bode served as an assistant coach for the 2019 Loyola men’s soccer team, which would go on to win the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) championship and earn the program’s fifth trip to the NCAA Tournament.
