UMKC assistant Andre McGee has resigned from his position amid allegations that he paid for escorts to attract recruits while serving as an assistant under Rick Pitino at Louisville. UMKC announced McGee’s resignation, which was reported by Raphielle Johnson of NBC Sports’ College Basketball Talk.

The allegations against McGee were made in the book “Breaking Cardinal Rules,” written by self-professed Louisville madam Katina Powell. Once news of McGee’s supposed actions surfaced, he was placed on paid administrative leave by UMKC. In her book, Powell alleges that McGee paid her to provide escorts for parties at which potential recruits and members of Louisville’s basketball team were present.
