News broke last week that Louisville assistant Wyking Jones was expected to leave and accept the same position on Cuonzo Martin’s staff at California.
Former Louisville assistant Ralph Willard was rumored for fill the void in Rick Pitino’s staff.
Prior to Thursday morning’s press conference, UofL officially confirmed that Willard will in fact join the coaching staff.
“I’ve asked Ralph Willard to come back for next year as we have a totally new basketball team,” Pitino said in an official press release.
“I couldn’t afford any other changes, including potentially moving David Padgett up this year because he is invaluable as our director of basketball operations.
