LAFAYETTE – Simone Fields scored 24 points and added seven rebounds to lead the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team to a 78-52 win over Dillard (La.) in an exhibition game on Saturday at Blackham Coliseum.
Louisiana (1-0) took a 4-2 lead on a layup by Fields with 7:26 left in the first quarter and the Cajuns never looked back.
"On the offensive side, she is really doing well," Brodhead said of Fields. "She is being very aggressive on the boards and doing what we asked."
Jasmine Thomas scored a layup to give the Cajuns an 8-4 lead with 5:47 left in the first quarter and spark a 15-1 run by Louisiana.
