Tipsheet: Goodell gets slapped down, again

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell earns staggering money, roughly $40 million, to screw up again and again and again.

To sanitize the sports on an extremely superficial level -- for the benefit of well-heeled corporate sponsors -- he has taken it upon himself to crack down on suspect player behavior.

Efforts to "protect the shield" have led to some whimsical and incongruous punishments, with his "Deflategate" crackdown on Tom Brady standing as his most comical decision of all.

Naturally Brady's four-game ban died in federal courts, since the process that yielded the outcome was terribly flawed.
