Injury Update: Brandon Bass

After falling hard on his left knee in the Lakers' preseason tilt with Utah on Tuesday, Brandon Bass will sit out of Thursday's contest against Toronto. Bass — who stayed in for the last 24 seconds of the first half after being hurt against the Jazz — was diagnosed with a patella contusion after undergoing an MRI and CT scan.

Injuries are foreign territory to the 10-year veteran, as he has missed just one regular-season game over the past three seasons. Prior to the incident on Tuesday, Bass had been giving Utah issues. The 30-year-old hit all four of his shots, while piling up 12 points, three rebounds, two steals and a block in just 16 minutes.
