The NBA trade deadline is on February 6th, and the Los Angeles Lakers are expected to be busy. However, one of the newest Lakers rumors has nothing to do with a trade, but it could involve a free agent point guard. Darren Collison wants to play in Los Angeles, but the question is, which team will he end up on: the Clippers or Lakers? Both teams would love to add the veteran point guard, as Darren Collison brings elite three-point shooting along with some solid defense and playmaking ability in the starting five or off the bench as a potential sixth man for either team.

One trade rumor popping up for the Lakers involves Kyle Kuzma. The Sacramento Kings reportedly made a real offer to the Lakers involving Kuzma. The Kings offered to trade a draft pick and Nemanja Bjelica to the Lakers in exchange for the young, budding role player. The Lakers didn’t like that offer, so they countered with a trade offer of Bogdan Bogdanovic and a draft pick to the Lakers for Kyle Kuzma. Neither team has budged quite yet, so we will see what happens with the Lakers, Kings and Kyle Kuzma.
Luke Kennard of the Detroit Pistons is reportedly being made available in trade talks, and his improved play could make him a candidate to be a part of a blockbuster trade. Should the Los Angeles Lakers be interested? They have shown interest in Bogdan Bogdanovic, so a similar player in Luke Kennard could make some sense. It’s unclear how much the Pistons value Kennard, but if the Lakers really want to make a move for him, he would be an excellent addition to the young core and would provide a valuable step up in their three-point shooting depth.
