Lakers "have big-time interest" in Hawks' DeMarre Carroll, according to report

The Los Angeles Lakers will have upwards of $20 million in cap space this offseason if they decline Jordan Hill's team option. According to Sean Deveney of Sporting News, the team is preparing to use some of that money to sign unrestricted free agent small forward DeMarre Carroll of the current Eastern Conference Finals participating Atlanta Hawks.

Carroll averaged 16.2 points and 6.4 rebounds for the Hawks this season, and was part of the starting lineup when all five players were named the collective Eastern Player of the Month for the first time in NBA history in January.
