The Lakers are looking more and more like they are on the verge of giving up all playoff hopes this season and are looking to the future.
Given that the Dwight Howard experiment has been an utter failure thus far, and Pau Gasol has had an awful season, it would be a surprise to no one if Dwight would like to leave LA this summer when he becomes a free agent, or if the Lakers want to get some value for Pau.
So that begs the question, are the Lakers going to make a big trade and if so, who are they going to move?
While Lakers fans might be desperate for a trade Mike D'Antoni has no plans to lobby Mitch Kupchak and Jim Buss to make a move by the trade deadline.

There are murmurs that the Lakers are targeting Lou Amundson from the Phoenix Suns, but that does not seem like a huge move that would help make the Lakers a playoff caliber team.
So for now, Lakers fans are just going to have to wait in agony and hope that the Lakers by some miracle can turn things around and become the elite team they are expected to be.
