Doc Rivers, DeAndre Jordan say all the right things about Kawhi Leonard getting defensive honor

SAN ANTONIO >> The Los Angeles Clippers lobbied hard for center DeAndre Jordan to be voted Defensive Player of the Year, even to the point of setting out promotional flyers in the media room at Staples Center for reporters to see.

Jordan and the Clippers found out Thursday that Jordan finished third in the voting for the second consecutive year. Kawhi Leonard of the San Antonio Spurs finished first, Draymond Green of Golden State was second.

Clippers coach Doc Rivers admitted he was disappointed in the voting, which is done by members of the media. But he did not complain too much about it.
