Kings sign free agent forward Teddy Purcell

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent forward Teddy Purcell on a one-year contract, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

The 30-year-old Purcell (born September 8, 1985) is a 6-2, 195-pound native of St. John’s, Newfoundland, and he appeared in 76 regular season games with Florida and Edmonton last season (14-29=43, 12 PIM, 16:50 TOI).

Originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Kings in 2007 (April 27, 2007) after one season at the University of Maine (NCAA), Purcell has played nine seasons in the NHL – with Florida, Edmonton, Tampa Bay and Los Angeles.
