Back It Up

The Kings had a hole to fill after they dealt backup goaltender Martin Jones to the Boston Bruins last Friday moments prior to the draft. Jones’s stint in Boston didn’t last very long; the Bruins quickly shipped him off to the San Jose Sharks.

The Kings’ former backup goaltender is now a division foe, and is a good possibility to be opposite Jonathan Quick when both clubs open the 2015-’16 regular season on October 7th at STAPLES Center.

Until Wednesday morning, shorty after the NHL’s Free Agent period began, the Kings were locked in on finding a solid #2 goalie to replace Jones, while providing support for Quick.
