Tomorrow night, Galaxy II take on Saint Louis FC in the first-ever meeting between the two teams. Saint Louis, a USL expansion team in 2015, was moved to the USL’s Western Conference in the league’s conference realignment ahead of the 2016 season.
Last weekend, LA Galaxy II defeated Arizona United SC 2-0 in the team’s 2016 USL Regular Season debut.
Newly signed LA Galaxy forward Ariel Lassiter scored twice (one PK) in the first half, wasting no time to prove he’s the same dominant player the league saw in 2015. A 2-0 halftime lead looked less safe after a red card was shown to defender Oscar Sorto at 62’, but Head Coach Curt Onalfo brought on freshly signed midfielder Bryam Rebellon for forward Denzel Slager to help shore up the backline and secure the team’s first clean sheet of the season.
