The NWSL Challenge Cup will take a brief hiatus before resuming play next week. Once the competition resumes play, the San Diego Wave might be without one of their most talented players, Sofia Jakobsson. Jakobsson is currently with Sweden as she has been summoned to the national team to help them qualify for next year’s Women’s World Cup. Sweden will play two qualifying matches within the next two weeks, as they will take on Georgia on April 7th and the Republic of Ireland on April 12th.
Soon after she returned to Sweden, Jakobsson gave an interview to the Swedish football site, Fotbollskanalen.
