Trade Deadline Thoughts: Bob Smith

As the 28th of July came to an end and went without a trade for a top flight starting pitcher and an explosive bat from the Dodgers front office, especially since two top pitchers were on display this week in the Rays-Dodgers series, I am beginning to believe the case for hoarding prospects is in full swing in Los Angeles.

Holding onto prospects isn’t the worst idea, it has proven useful in Kansas City and Atlanta over the years, but this is Los Angeles where championships in every sport are required to keep the masses happy.
