LA Dodgers, manager Don Mattingly agree to part ways

Don Mattingly will not return as the Dodgers’ manager in 2016, a source confirmed Thursday. CBSsports.com first reported the story this morning, describing the decision as a mutual parting of ways. The Dodgers have not officially announced the decision.

The move comes seven days after the Dodgers lost Game 5 of the National League Division Series to the New York Mets, marking the second consecutive season in which their season ended in the first round of the playoffs.

Mattingly, 54, finishes with a 446-363 record (.551) over four seasons in Los Angeles, and 8-11 in the postseason.
