Dodgers’ Hyun-Jin Ryu set to return Thursday in Colorado

LOS ANGELES >> Hyun-Jin Ryu will return from the disabled list on Thursday to start the first game of the Dodgers’ four-game series against the Colorado Rockies.

Ryu was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a gluteal injury after his last start April 30. He is 1-4 with a 4.05 ERA in five starts this season. He’s allowed only one run in each of his last two starts.

The choice to start Thursday’s game was basically between Ryu and Clayton Kershaw, who will start Friday’s game instead. Alex Wood and Julio Urias are lined up to start Saturday and Sunday, respectively — setting up the possibility of a four-game series featuring four left-handed starters.
