Despite Ryu's injury, Dodgers topple D-backs

PHOENIX -- The Dodgers' bullpen, pressed into emergency service after an early injury to starter Hyun-Jin Ryu, delivered its most important performance of the season thus far in Wednesday night's 2-1 win over the D-backs at Chase Field.

Ryu, the most consistent member of the rotation entering the game, sustained a strained left groin in the second inning with the Dodgers leading on a first-inning run -- the first of Alex Verdugo's two doubles was followed by Cody Bellinger's RBI single off Zack Godley.
