D-Backs @ Dodgers July 30, 2016: No Trades Yet

Last night’s game will be a hard act to top. The Dodgers won in dramatic fashion, and will look to follow that up with another win against Diamondbacks starter Braden Shipley. Shipley was the Diamondbacks’ first-rounder in 2013 (selected three spots before Chris Anderson) and made his first career start last week against the Brewers. Shipley allowed six runs in 5-1/3 innings while walking four, striking out four, and allowing three dingers. Shipley was Baseball America’s number 77 prospect entering this season. His fastball, curveball, and changeup (his only three pitches) all received above-average grades from the right side, but his control scored a below-average 45 (though it appeared to take a step forward in his minor league time this season).
