A's land lefty Coulombe in deal with Dodgers

The A's have acquired left-hander Daniel Coulombe from the Dodgers in exchange for cash considerations, the club announced on Thursday.

Coulombe -- ranked by MLBPipeline.com as the Dodgers' No. 28 prospect at the time of the deal -- pitched in five games for the Dodgers this season across five stints in the Majors and recorded seven strikeouts in 8 1/3 innings, posting a 7.56 ERA. He's pitched primarily at Triple-A this year, recording a 3.27 ERA in 38 relief appearances. The Dodgers drafted Coulombe in the 25th round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft, and he made his big league debut last year.
