Dodgers acquire Jose Tabata from Pirates for Mike Morse

LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers continued their roster churn with one final minor move before Friday's non-waiver trade deadline, acquiring outfielder Jose Tabata from the Pirates for outfielder / first baseman Michael Morse and cash.

The Dodgers on Thursday acquired Morse as part of their three-team, 13-player trade with the Marlins and Braves, but then designated him for assignment. Morse makes $7 million this season, with roughly $2.5 million remaining, and makes $8 million in 2016.

It is unknown how much cash the Dodgers kicked in.
