Brandon McCarthy leaves early after asking for trainer

Dodgers starter Brandon McCarthy left Saturday night's game against the Padres in the sixth inning, after calling for team trainers to come out from the dugout.

It isn't yet known what sort of injury McCarthy suffered, or whether he was removed as a precaution.

McCarthy entered the inning with a 10-3 lead, but after allowing singles to Yangervis Solarte and Matt Kemp he served up a three-run home run to Justin Upton, cutting the lead to 10-6. It was the second home run of the game for Upton, and the third of the game allowed by McCarthy.
