To honor the LA Clippers’ star player, the city of San Diego, California has proclaimed that February 1, 2020, will be known as “Kawhi Leonard Day” as stated by Mayor Kevin Faulconer.
This honor comes after it was announced that Kawhi’s jersey will be retired by his college, San Diego State. The retirement will happen on the same day. Leonard will have his jersey retired during halftime of the Aztecs’ game just hours after he and the Clippers host the Minnesota Timberwolves. It is likely most, if not all of the team will attend.
