PLAYA VISTA >> Paul Pierce sat on stage at the Clippers’ facility a year ago, with hopes on being a major contributor and dreams of bringing a title parade to the streets of Los Angeles.
One media day later the tone was much different.
Pierce, who earlier in the day announced that he’d retire from the NBA following the upcoming season, his 19th, joked with teammates and talked about soaking everything in on the last stop of his career before it finally wraps up and possibly being elected into the Hall of Fame.
Instead of just focusing on rings, Pierce will take in the dinners, the jokes in the locker room and even his final media day.
