Off-season free agent signing of 11 year veteran hybrid forward Josh Smith may very well prove to be the “missing piece” in the Los Angeles Clippers’ championship puzzle.
Smith, 29, signed with the Clippers this off-season for the veteran’s minimum of $1.5 million, and is also being paid $5.4 million dollars from the Detroit Pistons this upcoming season after being waived by Detroit 28 games into last season before signing with the Houston Rockets and becoming an integral component of their bench unit that played an invaluable role in helping Houston advance to Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals last season before losing to the eventual NBA champion Golden State Warriors.
