The Chargers sent newly appointed tight ends coach Rip Scherer to South Dakota State’s pro day on Friday to take in the performance of top tight end prospect Dallas Goedert, according to Tony Pauline of DraftAnalyst.com. Scherer was one of seven tight end coaches to attend the pro day, a group that included coaches from the Eagles, Dolphins, and Saints.
At 6-foot-5 and 255 pounds, Goedert is a beast of a pass-catcher who is arguably the top tight end prospect in this year’s class. According to Pro Football Focus, Goedert was by far and away the top guy at his position in 2017.
