Mike Scioscia said he was “100 percent” certain that he was right about his protest in the Angels’ loss to the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday.
However, you can probably forget about him winning this one.
See, even though Scioscia definitely thinks he’s right – and I'm not saying he isn't – his problem is that his case is based entirely on what the umpires said and even thought, not what they did.
So unless he’s got a transcript of the conversation that took place on the field, he’s not going to win the protest.
