Mike Trout spoke to the media on Saturday, before starting his sixth full season with the Angels. He said he'd like to steal more bases and get back to the playoffs.

TEMPE, Ariz. — Mike Trout, model of consistency, described his preparation and goals in terms unheard since … well … since last year.

Trout said Saturday he wants to steal more bases, maybe 40 this year. He expects the Angels to win. He’s satisfied that management has a plan to get the Angels there.

Aside from showing that he’s continued to let his hair grow — “some of my teammates were complaining that I had the same buzz cut since third grade” — Trout continues to be the same guy each year when he conducts his traditional spring training press conference.
