Jered Weaver's 11-year career with the Angels came to an official end on Saturday, when the veteran right-hander agreed to terms on a one-year with the San Diego Padres. Weaver's deal is pending a physical.
The Angels apparently never seriously engaged Weaver about a return in 2017, following a season in which he posted a career-worst 5.06 ERA. Weaver still led the Angels with 178 innings, ironically proving to be the most durable in a rotation that was decimated by injuries.
For his career, Weaver went 150-93 with a 3.55 ERA for the Angels, the second most victories in franchise history, behind Chuck Finley's 165.
